The 1955 edition of the 24 Heures du Mans is of course most infamous for the horrendous accident with Pierre Levegh's Mercedes which crashed into the main grandstand.

The race was won by Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb in their Jaguar D-Type (S/N XKD505) with a total of 307 laps to their name.

The event was equally dramatic for Ferrari as NONE of the 5 entered cars made it to the finish...

Vintage 1956 COLOR photo of Ferrari 860 Monza S/N 0602M at Sebring.

This is a small vintage 1956 colour photo of the factory entered Ferrari 860 Monza of Harry Schell & Luigi Musso en route to second place in the 1956 running of the 12 Hours of Sebring (or the Florida International Grand Prix of Endurance powered by Amaco as it was officially called...).

The car was raced extensively during the 1956 in the hands of Musso, Schell, Fangio, Castellotti, Collins, Hawthorn and de Portago.

It now seems to reside in Germany.

The photo measures some 7 x 4.5 cm or 2.8 x 1.8 inches.

It is in very good condition but does have some sticky substance on it which does not affect the appearance.

A VERY rare contemporary COLOR image of this car during its first race outing ever!

This is a vintage print, i.e. printed shortly after the original image was captured on film.

Only 1 available.
