ENORMOUS Vintage 1961 photo of the Grand Prix of Italy at the Autodromo di Monza

!

This is a vintage 1961 B&W photo of the pack coming through the Parabolica turn during the 1961 Grand Prix of Italy at the Autodromo di Monza.

The photo shows not less than FIVE of the famous Ferrari 156 Sharknose cars in 1 single view!

This race would of course go down in hisory as one of the most dramatic ever as seconds after this photo was taken, the Ferrari of Wolfgang von Trips and the Lotus of Jim Clark would get tangled up and von Trips would lose his life in the resulting crash.

Going through the cars in the picture, starting at the bottom, we see the following drivers:

It is amazing to see that only 2 out of the above 9 drivers are still alive today...

This photo measures a staggering 12 x 9.5 inches.

It is in mint condition for its age.

Please note that this photo is too big for our scanner so we had to digitally "stich" two scans together to be able to present the total image. The horizontal line at the bottom of the image is a result of that. This is NOT visible in the actual photo!

The back carries the photographer's stamp.

Only 1 available.

Vintage 1962 Photo of Ferrari 246 SP S/N 0796, Targa Florio.

This is a vintage 1962 photo of the 246SP, S/N 0796, during preparation for the 1962 Targa Florio.

The car would win the race, driven by Willy Mairesse, Ricardo Rodriguez & Olivier Gendebien.

The car in question is the 246 SP S/N 0796 which was later modified to serve as a mule for the Tipo 250 P and crashed during practise for the 1963 Targa Florio. The car burnt out completely and was assumed to have been scrapped although parts of it seem to survive.

In the background we see the # 108 Porsche 718 GTR of Nino Vaccarella & Jo Bonnier which would finish 3rd overall.

This is a vintage print, i.e. printed shortly after the original image was captured on film.

The photo measures some 5.5 x 3.5 inches or 13.5 x 9 cm and is in excellent condition. The back carries NO photographer' stamp.

Only 1 available.
