Phil Hill signed 1959 Fuller Brush Catalog

Phil Hill signed 1959 Fuller Brush Catalog.

In 1959 Ferrari enthusiast Howard Fuller, owner of the Fuller Brush Company, issued a special catalog to honour up-and-coming man Phil Hill.

The catalog contains many photo's of Phil racing Ferraris, at the Ferrari factory, tinkering with his cars and during leisure time.

These catalogs are now very much collector's items and a relatively rare find in mint condition.

Here we have a totally mint examply that was mailed out to Mr. Eugene H. Baker of Landisville, PA, USA.

Mr. Baker had the catalog signed by Phil Hill shortly thereafter. Phil used a black ballpoint for the signature.

Truly a rare find with this vintage autograph !

Only 1 available of course as every autographed item is unique and we provide a Certificate of Authenticity with it which guarantees that this is a genuine signature.

Mike Hawthorn Champion Year My battle for the Drivers World Title 4th Edition 1959.

4th Edition 1959.

3 Days after the manuscript was delivered to the Publishers, Mike Hawthorn was killed on the Guilford by-pass.

It tells the story of the 1958 season when Hawthorn became the first British World Champion. Ironically one of the low points of the year was the death of Hawthorn’s great friend Peter Collins.

Truly it was a disastrous year for motor racing.

Fine condition for age with minor discolorization to the dust jacket.

This was the first ever GP in the USA.

It measures approximately 7 x 5 inches.

Excellent condition.

About the car:

This is S/N 0004, built in 1958 and is of the small tube chassis frame variety.

This is the same car in which Luigi Musso had his fatal accident during the French Grand Prix held at Reims on July 6, 1958.

The car was raced extensively during the 1958, 1959 and 1960 seasons and was raced by the above mentioned Luigi Musso and further by Wolfgang von Trips, Phil Hill, Jean Behra (amongst others a win at the Aintree 200, 1959), Cliff Allison, Olivier Gendebien, Froilan Gonzales and of course Tony brooks.

The car was broken up at the end of the 1960 season but somewhere during the 1960's Sir Anthony Bamford of the UK acquired the engine from the factory. In 1980 Graypaul Motors created a replica of the car which now seems to reside in Japan.

About the race:

Tony qualified 4th with a time of 3'05.9 and finished the race in in 3rd position, a royal 3 minutes behind winner Bruce McLaren on Cooper Climax.
