Vintage 1953 Le Mans Race Program.
In excellent condition but obviously used and a small corner or the top of the rear cover missing (see photographs). Blank lap sheet with some scribbling in the margins.
Fantastic artwork by world renowned motorsport artist Geo Ham on both the front and rear cover.
Unlike the previous years, the artist has decided to show a slightly more symbolic face of the event.
The scene looks like the exit of the Mulsanne hairpin while the water tower, which was built by the Germans during World War 2, can be seen in the background on the left.
The race was won by Tony Rolt and Duncan Hamilton in their Jaguar C-Type with a total of 304 laps to their name.
Unfortunately, Tom Cole Jr. met his untimely end when he crashed the Ferrari 340 MM Vignale Spyder (S/N 0284MM), which he shared with 1949 Le Mans winner Luigi Chinetti, in lap 175.
