Vintage 1949 photo, Peter Whitehead, Ferrari 125 S/N 10C, GP of Brno
whitehead01

This is a vintage 1949 photo of Peter Whitehead on Ferrari 125 on his way to winning the 1949 Grand Prix of Czechoslovakia at Brno.

In the photo, you can see him chasing Philippe Etancelin on Talbot who would finish the race in second place.

Ferrari was still very much an unknown quantity as a make, judging by the corrected spelling mistake in the text on the back.

2 Ferrari's were entered at this race, the one in this picture and one for Franco Cortese. The starting grid was determined by draw and Cortese ended up in 17th place, leaving him almost without a chance for the win but he still managed a 3rd place. Whitehead had more luck and started from 8th place which he, as mentioned above, turned into a race win.

The car in question is Ferrari 125 S/N 10C, Peter Whitehead's private 125.

Only 1 (one) available and a VERY rare opportunity.
