Vintage 1976 photo of Ferrari 225 Sport Vignale Berlinetta S/N 0152EL

!

Vintage 1976 photo of Ferrari 225 Sport Vignale Berlinetta S/N 0152EL.

This is a vintage October 1976 color photo of the Ferrari 225S S/N 0152EL at what looks to be an Italian Ferrari meeting.

In the background there is a Fiat van with Italian license plates and right behind the 225 S are two more classic Ferrari's, one being a 250 PF Coupe carrying racing number 33.

The setting looks to be a race track (Monza?).

Although the photo was printed in October 1976, it was probably taken a little bit earlier in the year. Maybe someone can identify the event and / or the other cars in the picture.

S/N 0152EL was raced extensively throughout its early life, competing in the 1952 Mille Miglia, GP de Monaco, 24 Heures du Mans and the Tour de France Auto.

The photo was taken during the brief ownership of Giuseppe Medici from Reggio Emilia. The car now seems to reside in Brescia, Italy.

The photo measures some 13 x 9 cm or 5 x 3.5 inches and is in mint condition. There are NO references to the photographer.

Vintage 1976 Bertone Factory Press Press Photo of Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 Rainbow S/N 12788

Vintage 1976 Bertone Factory Press Press Photo of Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 Rainbow S/N 12788.

Vintage 1976 Bertone photo of the one-off rainbow which was based on the 308 GT/4 (Serial Number 12788).

This is what Bertone themselves say about the car:

>>>
The Rainbow signalled Bertone's return, after nearly 15 years, to the Ferrari theme, this time with a freer interpretation.

While the design of the Dino 308 GT4 represented a blend of sobriety and tradition, the Rainbow is an experiment in unconventional styling.

In fact there were no intentions to put this model into production, and Bertone was able to interpret the theme without any constraints but functionality.

The chassis was the same one used for the 308 GT4, teamed with the generous 250 Hp engine.

Shortened by 10 cm, the chassis gives the vehicle a compact, aggressive feel.

The prototype, which was presented at the 1976 Turin Motor Show, immediately stood out for its design peculiarities: first and foremost for the originality of the mechanical hood mechanism which stows the hood away behind the seats.

This was a solution for the transformation from spider to coupé and back again in a context - that of the two-in-one car - that had long captured the imagination of designers the world over.

The unconventional Ferrari Rainbow represented faith in the automobile industry, in a period in Italian history which favoured stylistic conformity over experimentation into new design concepts.

2 Vintage 1970s photos of Ferrari 166 Inter Stablimenti Farina Cabriolet S/N 011S

011S-01
!

Here we have a set of 2 vintage 1970's Polaroid photos of Ferrari 166 Inter Stablimenti Farina Cabriolet S/N 011S.

S/N 011S is the 1949 Geneva Motorshow car and was delivered to famous Italian movie director Roberto Rossellini in March of that year.

The car passed through a number of hands until it ended up with an owner in Massachusetts around 1976. That owner offered it for sale in 1979 and it seems to reside in Nevada since 1984.

Judging by the Massachusetts "Antique" number plate and other photographs that we acquired from the same source, these photos were taken between 1976 and 1979 during a classic car event in the USA.

Although the quality is not that great, one can clearly distinguish severeal important details and that by this period, the car was no longer in its original "Pea green" livery but red and was missing the front bumper.

Each photo measures some 8 x 8 cm or 3 x 3 inches (standard Polaroid size).

Only 1 set available.
