Sir John Surtees Ferrari Memorabilia
Vintage Original 1963 Monaco Grand Prix Counter-Top Poster.
Here we have a VERY rare Monaco Grand Prix poster...
These posters could be seen hanging throughout the principality of Monaco prior to the race in 1963 but this one is a little more special...
This particular one is executed as a counter-top version and it is the very first one in this execution that we ever managed to lay our hands on.
The artwork is by French artist Michel Beligond and shows a number of F1 cars racing along the harbor of Monte-Carlo.
The race was won by Graham Hill on BRM, followed by his team mate Ritchie Ginther with Bruce McLaren on Cooper-Climax completing the podium.
Ferrari entered a Ferrari 156 Sharknose for both John Surtees and Willy Mairesse. John brought his home in 4th place, after having set fastest lap in the race, while Willy dropped out of the race in lap 37 due to gearbox problems.
As visible in the pictures, this unusual table top Monaco "poster" has been maltreated severely in its past so it is in far from mint condition but it simply oozes patina... For the exact condition, please check the photographs.
The dimensions are some 59 x 40 cm or 23.5 x 16 inches.
We have, of course, only 1 available.

In the picture, you can see the car and the strange skid marks it had left on the road surface and the loose rear wheel being tucked away in the cabin.
