1978 Ferrari Literature and Memorabilia
1978 Enzo Ferrari signed Gilles Villeneuve postcard.
This official Ferrari factory issued postcard of F1 ace Gilles Villeneuve has been signed by "The Drake", Enzo Ferrari, himself in February 1978.
In the typed text on the back, Enzo expresses his gratitude for the received birthday wishes and sends his regards in return.
The card, in portrait format, shows a concentrated Gilles with his characteristic blue & red helmet on and the visor opened, apparently waiting in his car in the pits.
The rear shows the above mentioned text, the Scuderia Ferrari logo and sponsors Agip, Magneti Marelli and Michelin.
The card was printed by Grafiche Zanichelli in Sassuolo, right around the corner from Maranello.
PLEASE NOTE:The Villeneuve signature on the front, the typed text on the back AND the Enzo Ferrari signature are ALL printed.Various sources confirm this and we have been able to compare it to other examples of this postcard which are EXACTLY the same.
The postcard does not carry a print number but is listed by Michael Sauze in his book and he numbered it "78/03".
A (very?) scarce Ferrari postcard with a desirable motif, interesting (printed!) text and Gilles is of course an all-time F1 hero!

Gilles Villeneuve signed magazine clipping.
This is a mounted (NOT professionally done!) magazine clipping of the late Gilles Villeneuve (1950 - 1982) that was signed by Gilles.
Gilles Villeneuve signed items are very, VERY rare and we are happy to be able to offer this definitely out-of-the-ordinary piece.
The clipping itself is not dated but appears to be an advertisement for Autosport magazine and the silhouette of Gilles was cut out of a large color photo of Gilles sitting in his Ferrari at the 1978 Long Beach Grand Prix.
As mentioned, this is NOT a professional mounting.
The total, including matting measures some 12 x 15 inches or 30 x 38 cm.
A truly great opportunity and we only have 1 available of course.
Only 1 available as every autographed item is of course unique.
A Certificate of Authenticity will be provided with this item that guarantees you that the signature is genuine or we give you your money back.

Vintage 1978 24 Heures du Mans Race Poster.
June 10 & 11, 1978.
38 x 59 cm15 x 23 inches
The 1978 Le Mans poster is part of the "Early Sponsorship and Advertising" era in Le Mans posters and which lasted from 1975 to 1980.
The color illustration is by Lardrot while the production was in the hands of the Le Mans Imprimerie Commerciale.
While the designer seeks to emphasize the human aspect of the race by portraying a single driver, the technique used is very special. He imitates silk screen printing in paint. It is an original idea and meticulously executed. Sponsorship is evident (local Le Mans insurance company Les Mutuelles du Mans) and is given the same importance as the date.
The race was won by Didier Pironi and Jean-Pierre Jaussaud in their Nr 2 Renault-Alpine A442B "Bubble top" with a total of 369 laps to their name or 5.044 KM.
For the full results of this race, please see 24 Heures du Mans results 1978.
This poster will be shipped, rolled, in a sturdy tube.
