1992 Ferrari 456GT Carpet Sample Set

Ferrari factory original circa 1992 Ferrari Carpet Sample Set.

Ferrari have always supplied their Sales / Showroom personnel with material to make the choice of car specification easy for any prospective owner.

These items are probably the most seen and most used of their “tools-of-trade”, but not ones that are readily available to the Ferrari enthusiast.

This item is the Ferrari Carpet Brochure (or Swatch) of sample pieces that a Salesman would have used to specify the carpet trim on a new Ferrari 456 GT.

The samples all measure 25cm x 17cm (or 10 x 6.5 inches), bound in matching leather, and are held together by the old method of “screw and stud”, previously used on parts manuals.

All of the pieces (6 in total) are in very good condition and are listed on a front sheet as:

  • Biondo 85
  • Grigio Fumo 86
  • Otranto 87
  • Verde Foresta 88
  • Terracotta 89
  • Nero 90

In good, hardly used, condition.

Original 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans Pre-Qualifying Poster

1995 24 Heures du Mans Pre-Qualifying Poster.

April 30, 1995.

40 x 53 cm
15.5 x 21 inches

Mint condition.

The 1995 Le Mans pre-qualifying poster follows more or less the same design and lay-out as the poster for the main event but still has a prototype in the background.

It can generally been seen as a study for the main poster.

The color illustration is from the hand of Donnot and the production was in the hands of S. Conseil agency.

The race was won by Yannick Dalmas, Masanori Sekiya and JJ Lehto in their # 59 McLaren F1 GTR - BMW with a total of 298 laps to their name.

For the full results of this race, please see 24 Heures du Mans results 1995.

This poster will be shipped, rolled, in a sturdy tube.

1995 24 Heures du Mans Race Poster.

June 17 & 18, 1995.

40 x 53 cm
15.5 x 21 inches

Mint condition.

The 1995 Le Mans poster is part of the "The star car used for sponsorship" era in Le Mans posters which lasted from 1981 to 1997.

Design of the 1995 Le Mans poster was again in the hands of the S. Conseil agency and is, also again, based on a color illustration by Donnot.

The GT category again topped the bill in 1995. It was the first time that a GT car would win the race outright. The illustrator's aspect proudly puts the cars of the foreground while the track itself has virtually vanished.

The race was won by Yannick Dalmas, Masanori Sekiya and JJ Lehto in their # 59 McLaren F1 GTR - BMW with a total of 298 laps to their name.

For the full results of this race, please see 24 Heures du Mans results 1995.

Original 1995 Monaco Grand Prix Poster - Limited Edition

Original 1995 Monaco Grand Prix Poster - Limited Edition

Here we have an original 1995 Monaco GP Race Poster "Hors Commerce".

This is one of the original posters that was actually hanging in the Principality of Monaco to advertise the 1995 Monaco Grand Prix which was held on May 25 - May 28 of that year.

Each year, the ACM (Automobile Club de Monaco, organizing body of the Monaco Grand Prix) issues a limited number of posters and distributes these amongst the hotels, cafés, restaurants and shops of Monte-Carlo with the intention that the shopkeepers etc actually display the posters to advertise the event.

To prevent these posters from being sold before the event, and thus rendering them useless as a publicity tool, these are marked on the back with the text "EXEMPLAIRE NON DESTINÉ A LA VENTE" which translates into as much as "Not for resale".

Logically, these posters are much more rare than the "normal" event posters which could be bought by the public before and during the race.

This particular one is one of the rare limited edition posters and carries the above-mentioned text on the back and has seen some proper use, which is visible in the photos, light fraying to the edges and knocks to the corners.

So, it is most definitely NOT in mint condition but the photographs are of the actual poster up for sale so please be your own judge on its condition.

As usual in those years, production of the poster was in the (capable) hand of the AIP advertising agency from Monte Carlo.

The image of the poster shows an artist's Impression of Michael Schumacher in his 1994 Benetton B194 # 5 thundering his way to victory in the 1994 race. The drawing was from the hand of Luc de Clerfayt.

The copyright was retained by the (no longer existing) FOPA, predecessor of the FOM (Formula One Management).

It measures approximately 24 x 16 inches or 60 x 40 cm.

The 1995 Monaco Grand Prix was again won by Michael Schumacher on Benetton, followed by Damon Hill on Williams and Gerhard Berger on Ferrari 412 T2 completing the podium.

The second Ferrari 412T2 was for Jean Alesi who spun off track in lap 41.

Only 1 available.

This poster will be shipped rolled, in a sturdy tube.
